Molly attended Massachusetts College of Art where she received her BFA in Illustration and Fiber Arts '12 and her Master of Arts in Teaching '15. After graduate school, she pursued visual display design at a local plant and flower boutique, surrounded by orchids, lush floral arrangements, and a jungle of house plants. This experience strongly influenced her work. Now, Molly is an elementary school art teacher which makes it possible to connect back to her child self on a daily basis while working with kids and observing their process of playing and creating.
Molly uses a variety of media including hand embroidery, paint, and collage. Molly’s current body of work explores nostalgia: the people, places and objects that make up memories. Using her painting practice as a form of reflection and connection, Molly’s work conveys a desire to be in the moment while connecting to the past- a portal. Table settings and the “unintentional still life” often inspire her work, acting as a small window into someone’s life.
